Your beautiful, new smile is designed to last a lifetime, with proper care and maintenance. Your All County Oral Surgeon will recommend a proper care and maintenance schedule for your implants. Right after surgery, implants require more attention from you and more frequent visits to the periodontist. Fortunately, All County Oral Surgery has an in-house periodontist for these specific procedures. Dr. Stephanie Sfiroudis will work with our surgeons as your mouth heals and adjusts so you have the most optimal after surgery care and results.

Post-Surgery Visits For Implants:

You can expect to visit Dr. Sfiroudis 10-14 days after surgery. If your implants, gum tissue and bone look healthy, your surgeon may suggest a visit in another few weeks. If you notice signs of a complication or infection, be sure to contact our office immediately; do not wait for your scheduled appointment.

Maintenance Visits For Your Implants

After the initial recovery period, when the dental implants have successfully integrated with the bone, your All County Oral Surgeon may recommend peridontal visits for six month periods. Your new implants will require the same professional cleanings and exams that your natural teeth did. Take care to point out the location of your dental implants to any hygienists that are unfamiliar with your dental health history. Dr. Sfiroudis will check your implants and the surrounding tissue and that it is cleaned properly. There may be additional visits to monitor your implants and your surgeon will typically combine these appointments with routine periodontal visits, for your convenience.

Home Care For Dental Implants

Your implants require you to brush your teeth a minimum of twice daily and floss once per day. Dr. Sfiroudis may have given you an anti-microbial rinse to prevent or soothe inflammation. If so, use as directed.
